The most elevated points during the adventure jeep safari include Rohtang Pass ( 3979 mts ), Baralacha Pass ( 16,500 ft ), Nakee La ( 16000 ft ) and Tang Lang La ( 17,500 ft, also the second highest motorable road in teh world ).
Jeep Safari Itinerary
Day 01): New Delhi - Manali (580 km)
Duration: 14 hours
Journey overnight in Volvo A.C. luxury coaches.
Meet a representative from 'Mystic Himalayan Trails' on arrival at Manali, check in to hotel.
Day 02): Keylong (115 Km)
Duration: 9 hours
Travel by jeep from Manali to Keylong via Rohtang Pass (3980m). On arrival at Keylong, check in to the hotel. You can hike up to Khardong monastery and village in the late afternoon.
Day 03): Keylong - Sarchu (107 km)
Duration: 5 hours
Proceed to Sarchu (4253m) en route visiting Jispa village and Baralacha La (4892m). You can also visit either Suraj Tal or Deepak Tal, beautiful glacial Tarns enroute to the pass before you cross the lofty Baralacha La and drive to Sarchu. In Rudyard Kipling's opus "Kim", Kim's Lama used this pass to enter India from Tibet. Once you have reached Sarchu and checked in at the camp, you walk in and around the village.
Day 04): Sarchu - Leh (236 km)
Duration: 9 hours
Travel to Leh over Lachang la (5065m) and Tanglang la (5360m). These passes are your introduction to real high altitude and the mountain vistas around them are superb. On arrival at Leh, check in to the hotel.
Day 05): Leh
Spend a half-day touring of the legendary Spituk and Phyang monasteries. In the afternoon, you get time to explore this quaint town and to visit the Kings Palace, Leh Mosque, Leh Gompa, Shankar Gompa and Leh Bazar.
Day 06): Leh
Spend the day on an excursion to two of Ladakh's famous monasteries - Thiksey and Hemis. On the way back, visit the Shey Palace.
Day 07): Leh-Khardungla-Leh
Visit the Khardung la pass, the highest motorable pass in the world at 5600m(18372 Ft). This road is marvel of Engineering and Indian army's project 'Himank' struggles continuously with the elements to keep it open for a few months in a year for defense purposes. Return to Leh by late afternoon.
Day 08): Leh - Sarchu (236 km)
Duration: 9 hours
Return to Sarchu and check into the camp.
Day 09): Sarchu - Manali (222 km)
Duration: 9 hours
Return to Manali over the mighty Rohtang Pass (3980m). Legend has it that Lord Shiva, who is also known as Girisha – Lord of The Mountains, created this pass with a strike of his trident on the invocation of the ancient inhabitants of Lahaul. So that they could maintain contact with the outside world. On arrival at Manali, check in to the hotel.
Day 10): Manali - New Delhi (300 km)
Duration: 14 hours
